3SW doing Liza Jane. Thanks to our leaders for keeping things together : )
In grade 3 we've been learning about partner songs- different songs that fit together. Lyrics:
I know a girl that you don't know, little Liza Jane Way down south in Baltimore, Lil Liza Jane Whoa, 'Eliza Liza, 'Lil Liza Jane Whoa, 'Eliza Liza, 'Lil Liza Jane I've been to Harlem, I've been to Dover I've traveled this wide world all over, Over, over, three times over, Drink all you have to drink and turn the glasses over Sailing east, sailing west, Sailing over the ocean You'd better watch out when the boat begins to rock Or you'll lose you girl in the ocean! 3LB played with rhythmical accuracy and good concentration. They all learned both the parts and played on both sets of instruments- the accompaniment on the xylophones and metallophones and the melody on glockenspiels.
Year three played well today. We learned about accompaniment- the music that "accompanies" the melody. Which instruments are playing the accompaniment...? We've also been doing lots of singing and working on pitching and projection, and these children can sing very well!
3LB doing Jogn Tanakanaka, a famous sea shanty. This is a work in progress ; )
